A Review by Ward Dean, M.D.
Here, at last, is a book that succinctly presents the proven safe and effective techniques that prevent the diseases that accelerate aging and lead to the degeneration of health in old age. Turning Back the Aging Clock: A Scientifically Designed and Medically Based Longevity Program, is based on laboratory studies and clinical research done by Lord Lee-Benner, M.D.,F.A.C.E., I personally believe it to be the most innovative method a physician had ever created in defense of the body.

I found the book to be clearly stated and extremely easy to read. It is written in simple terms and gets right to the point. Dr. Lee-Benner’s easy-to-follow technique is the ultimate scientific, state-of-the-art approach to beauty and health. In a sense, it is very much like a One Minute Manager’s approach to anti-aging.

Lord Lee-Benner, M.D., F.A.C.E., a physician who is known throughout the world as a neuroendocrinologist and an authority in anti-aging research and on anti-aging techniques, clearly outlines how to take control of your body’s aging. There are nine brief chapters that lead you step-by-step through an understanding of the free radical damage theory cause of aging, and what you must do, while living contemporary lifestyle, to regain and maintain your youthful vitality, perform at your maximum and look your best throughout your lifetime.

This book hits some of the high points of the complex chemical actions involved in aging, and discusses what can be done about them in lay terms.  It also provides the reader with an easy-to –administer at home test to measure their biologic rate of aging. There is a highly informative life-style rate of aging analysis that lets you monitor your own progress as you follow the method, and a reference guide, designed in the format of programmed teaching guide, which facilitates your learning while you are testing yourself. With these and additional home tests you can measure your biologic age as opposed to your chronological age and get an idea of how fast or slowly you are aging.

An added bonus is the longevity cookbook which make you the last half of Turning Back the Aging Clock. Delicious easy-to-follow recipes show how you can improve your health and save money on your weekly shopping bills at the same time

"I enjoyed reading the draft of your new book, Physicians Manual on Aging, the Immune System and Free Radical Damage. This book is very well written and contains a great deal of material that should be of interest to physicians, particularly the practical how-to approach presented in chapter 6."

Overview of the textbook:
Physician's Guide to Physical Fitness
This Guide on exercise programming for special populations is intended to present information to fitness instructors about clients who may have medical needs and special concerns, thus requiring more attention during exercise sessions.

As exercise principles move from athletic realm to the medical setting, it is important for exercise instructors to have a good working knowledge of many types of conditioning programs and apply them to situations other than the athletic populations.

This Guide will provide current scientific research concerning special populations, give specific medical concerns regarding each group, and detail sample programs that will benefit both the client as well as the instructor.
